Kokomo board approves GovDeals auction of surplus fleet items and OKs $2.18 million in claims

Presiding Officer said the auction request "comes from Jensen Pickett, our director of Central Garage," and recommended the board "approve the sale of retired and inoperable fleet equipment, owned by the City of Kokomo." The board voted by voice; after a motion, a second and members responding "Aye," the motion to use GovDeals to host the February 2026 auction carried.
The board also approved the minutes from its Jan. 28 meeting by motion and voice vote. Later in the meeting the board voted to approve claims in the amount of $2,181,700.35; the motion was moved, seconded and carried after members responded "Aye." No police or fire items, correspondence, public comments or board items were raised during the session.
The meeting was brief and procedural: all recorded actions were routine approvals handled by motion and voice vote. The board adjourned after the claims approval.
