Granite County commission approves routine items, accepts agreements and sets surplus sale

The Granite County Commission recorded several formal actions during its Feb. 3 meeting:
- Minutes (Jan. 27): Commissioners moved and seconded to accept the Jan. 27 minutes. Voice votes produced unanimous 'Aye' responses and the motion carried.
- State–county cooperative fire protection agreement: The commission moved, seconded and approved accepting the agreement with the state (DNRC/related office). Commissioners discussed equipment maintenance and repair responsibilities and approved the agreement by voice vote.
- Mako renewal paperwork: Commissioners authorized staff to proceed with the county’s renewal application (property/casualty and related renewals) and acknowledged the March 1 notice deadline for the healthcare trust; no vendor change was approved at the meeting.
- Surplus property: The commission voted to lower the minimum bid for surplus tobacco-related equipment to $5,500 and repost the notice for one week; motion carried by voice vote.
Several other administrative items (correspondence review, planning and personnel matters) were handled without separate formal votes or were referred to staff for follow-up.
