Granite County to review Mako renewal; brokers present alternatives ahead of March notice

A representative who identified herself as Jamie Foy (with Base Care Benefit Solutions) and other brokers described their services and asked to provide proposals. Commissioner and staff questions covered employee counts, the county’s employer contribution levels, vision/dental supplements, voluntary benefits and the county’s historical relationship with Mako. Staff asked brokers to deliver plan summaries so the commission can compare options before the March notification deadline.
The commission made no immediate change; commissioners instructed staff to collect plan summaries from Mako and from the soliciting brokers for an evidence-based renewal decision.
