Summary
At its Feb. 3 meeting, the DuPage County Public Works Committee approved minutes, an $8,100 budget transfer for employee medical/hospital insurance, two contracts (a UPS maintenance contract for $36,317.72 and a sodium chloride supply contract not to exceed $100,000) and declared a 2018 unit surplus for sale.
The DuPage County Public Works Committee on Feb. 3 approved routine business including the approval of minutes, a modest budget transfer, two contracts and the declaration of an older piece of equipment as surplus.
A motion to approve the Jan. 20, 2026 meeting minutes passed by voice vote. The committee then approved a budget transfer of $8,100 for the year ended 2025 to cover employee medical and hospital insurance payroll expenses.
The committee approved PWP 3-26, a contract with Gateway Corporation to provide uninterrupted power supply preventive maintenance and on-call emergency repair services for facilities management and the ETSB from April 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027, "for a total contract amount not to exceed $36,317.72," according to the meeting record.
The panel also approved PWP 4-26, a contract with Roll Chemical Corporation to supply sodium chloride to the Woodbridge Waste Treatment Facility for public works beginning April 1, 2026, with a total contract amount not to exceed $100,000.
On a separate item the committee declared "Public Works 2018 vector 2,100 I" surplus. Unidentified Speaker 2 said the department had purchased a replacement and had received a trade-in quote of about $135,000; Milton Township had expressed interest in buying the older unit and would pay the same amount the county expected from the trade-in, allowing the county to capture that value while Milton Township put the equipment to use. The committee approved the surplus declaration.
All motions on the agenda were seconded and carried by voice vote. The meeting adjourned after routine business. After adjournment, an exchange was recorded in which Unidentified Speaker 2 said, "You **** up all that. That's inefficient," and an Unidentified Speaker 1 replied, "I'm already done."
