The West Haven Special Service District on Jan. 12 approved Resolution 01-2026 to declare a 1991 Onan generator set surplus and authorized its sale through public surplus procedures.
Speaker 6, who presented the item, said the unit is a natural-gas Onan and reported about 1,100 hours of use. "It runs great," Speaker 6 said when describing the condition and noted the generator had been undersized for the station where it was used but remained operational. The board asked several routine questions about hours and condition prior to the vote.
Speaker 2 moved to declare the generator surplus and authorize its sale under the paperwork provided; Speaker 3 seconded the motion. The board conducted individual votes and recorded unanimous approval to put the unit up for sale.
The authorization directs staff to complete the surplus process under the district’s standard public-sale procedures; no sale price or purchaser was discussed at the meeting.
