Box Elder planning commission names Ally chair, Powery vice chair and MPO representative

At its Jan. 13 meeting the Box Elder Planning Commission appointed Ally as chair and Powery as vice chair for 2025 and approved Missell as the commission's representative to the Rapid City area MPO citizens advisory committee; all appointments were approved by roll-call votes.
Ally was appointed chair of the Box Elder Planning Commission for the 2025 term after a nomination and roll-call vote Wednesday night.
Erwin nominated Ally for chair; Powery seconded the nomination. An official roll call recorded each commissioner voting in favor and the motion passed, making Ally the commission chair for 2025.
The commission also selected Powery as vice chair. Erwin moved to nominate Powery for vice chair and Kristen Levine seconded. A roll-call vote recorded all present voting yes and the motion carried.
Commissioners then accepted a nomination for the Rapid City area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) citizens advisory committee. Kristen Levine moved to nominate Missell (listed in the staff report as MISSELL); the motion was seconded and approved by roll call. Staff noted meeting dates for 2025 and said Kristen Levine, who previously attended the MPO meetings, can help orient the appointee.
All the appointments were routine and carried on unanimous roll-call votes. The commission did not discuss any conditions attached to the appointments. The new officers and MPO representative will begin their 2025 responsibilities immediately and the nominations will be forwarded to the city council as required by commission procedures.
