Board accepts consent agenda; district recognizes four retiring teachers

The Weston Board of Education approved the consent agenda on Feb. 2, which included staffing updates and gifts. Julie presented staffing highlights and recognized four staff members who will retire at the end of the school year under the district's early-retirement incentive: Gina Arena (joined 2003; art teacher), Bill Mader (joined 2000; history teacher), Andrea Noble (reading intervention and curriculum leader) and Amanda Quaintance (32 years; classroom teacher). Board members thanked the retirees for their years of service.
The board also acknowledged a donation from the Weston High School PTO to support a speaker series and noted a contribution from the Weston Educational Foundation. The consent agenda motion carried by voice vote.
