Summary
The Pleasant Grove City Council, acting as the board of canvassers, unanimously adopted Resolution 2025-040 on Nov. 18 to certify the Nov. 4 municipal election, declaring Eric Jensen elected mayor and confirming Diana Anderson and Todd Williams to the council.
The Pleasant Grove City Council, convening as the board of canvassers on Nov. 18, 2025, adopted Resolution 2025-040 to accept the returns of the Nov. 4 municipal general election and certify the outcomes. City Recorder presented the tallies, recording 4,353 votes for Eric Jensen and 3,460 for Sid Lamone in the mayoral race; Jensen was declared elected with 55.71% of the vote. In the city council contests, Diana Anderson received 5,113 votes and Todd Williams 4,367; the board certified Anderson and Williams as elected.
"I'm very happy to present you all with the results of the votes for the 2025 municipal general election for Pleasant Grove," the City Recorder said while reading the totals and requesting the council name the resolution and designate the winners.
A motion to adopt the resolution was made and seconded. During the roll call, Mayor Guy Al Fugel and Council Members Rogers, Jansen, Lamone and Williams recorded votes of yes; the motion carried. The council signed the canvass report to complete certification.
Why it matters: Certification is the formal step that finalizes the election outcome and authorizes the city to seat the newly elected officials and move forward with administrative transitions. The council completed the canvass during its Nov. 18 meeting and then resumed regular business.
The council returned from canvassing to continue its meeting and proceeded to other agenda items, including consent business and multiple resolutions. The canvass resolution provides the formal documentation of the Nov. 4 election results and the effective declaration of the winners.
