SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah House used floor time Feb. 3 to adopt several committee reports and approve a string of bills from the consent and third-reading calendars. Notable floor outcomes with recorded tallies include:
• HB 356 (Drug distribution amendments): Sponsor Representative Monson described the measure as a cleanup bill to preserve access to discounted prescription drugs under a federal program; the bill passed 70–0 and will be sent to the Senate.
• SB 25 (Utah Retirement Systems modifications): Passed 70–1; sponsor said the bill clarifies definitions, coordinates service credit across tiers, and includes a limited exemption for senior attorney general staff.
• SB 26 (Pest control amendments): Passed 48–22; creates permits and targeted training for ornamental and turf technicians, licenses certain herbicide applicators, and raises fines for violations.
