"I had an idea in my heart to put kindness into action," Brooklyn said, recounting service projects that include care kits for children in hospitals and fleece blankets made by volunteers.
Youth volunteers outlined plans for assembling care kits and delivering sack lunches for people experiencing homelessness; organizers also described wearable‑coupon promotions with local businesses and multiple service projects led by the high‑school Choose Kindness Club.
The council moved to adopt the proclamation; the motion passed unanimously. Organizers invited volunteers to a rec‑center event that they described in the meeting and posed for a group photo with the mayor.
