The committee overseeing city business met Feb. 3, 2026, and approved a friendly amendment to Item 1 before adopting a consent calendar that included multiple open- and closed-session items.
At the outset the chair proposed amending Item 1 and moving several agenda items into closed session for detailed review. After the amendment was read into the record and seconded, the chair called the roll and announced that the listed consent items were before the committee.
During the roll call the clerk recorded five members voting in favor of the consent calendar items and the chair announced that Item 1 passed with the amendment. Councilmember Hernández requested separate roll calls for Items 4 and 8. On Item 4 the council approved the police/CEO recommendation by a vote of 4–1, with Hernández voting no. Item 8 was also taken separately at Hernández’s request; the clerk recorded the votes and the chair announced the item approved despite Hernández’s no vote.
The meeting then proceeded to scheduled presentations and discussions. No further action on the consent items was indicated in open session.
