The Austin Tourism Commission voted on Jan. 14 to change its 2026 meeting calendar and approved its Dec. 10, 2025 minutes.
The body unanimously approved the minutes from its last meeting. Later in the agenda, commissioners voted to move the next regular meeting from Wednesday, Feb. 11 to Monday, Feb. 9 to avoid quorum and travel conflicts; Commissioner Gammes made the motion and Commissioner Panepstein seconded. Chair Bailey put the motion to a voice vote and commissioners recorded their support.
Commissioners also voted to cancel the regular August meeting, a step offered as a motion by Commissioner Panepstein and seconded by a colleague; Chair Bailey announced the motion passed unanimously. Finally, the commission approved rescheduling the November meeting from Wednesday, Nov. 11 to Monday, Nov. 16 after a motion by Commissioner Gammes and a second from Commissioner Pruitt.
Chair Bailey noted staff and leadership would continue to refine the commission27s road map and that staff would circulate agendas earlier for the February change; liaison Ms. Burleson reminded the group that the agenda must be posted in advance to meet public-notice requirements for the new Feb. 9 date.
The commission adjourned after confirming those calendar changes and setting follow-up steps for outreach to February and March invitees.
