Romeoville landscaping (item 226‑4134) — The committee approved an intergovernmental agreement with the Village of Romeoville for installation and maintenance of landscaping at the northwest corner of Weber and North Carolina Drive; the village will maintain and replace plantings if needed.
Frankfort signal maintenance (item 26‑4148) — The committee approved a village agreement for maintenance and energy costs for four traffic signals along Laraway (County Board Districts 2 and 3).
Wilmington road improvement using MFT funds — An improvement by county under the Illinois Highway Code (Piaotone Road) was authorized to proceed using Motor Fuel Tax funds for County Board District 2; the motion carried.
Striping and MFT authorization — The committee confirmed award of a striping contract to Traffic Control Systems Limited (item 5264157) and separately authorized Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) appropriation for the project. Jeff explained the distinction: "Number 5 is the actual contract. Number 6 is the MFT authorization that authorizes MFT money." He said the expected contract cost is about "1.24 plus or minus" million dollars with a cap that "can't go over 1.425" million for contingency.
Traffic signal upgrades — The committee confirmed an award to Vanmark Electric (item 26‑4159) for multiple county traffic signal upgrades across several districts.
Oversight and expenditures — Member Reavis noted that about $6,100,000 in transportation projects were covered in the meeting and urged thorough questioning to represent taxpayers' interests. The committee approved all motions by voice vote and adjourned for the month.
