Zach Rogers, engineering, explained the balancing change order reconciles items that ran over (notably about $207,000 in rock excavation) and items that ran under (for example, common excavation). He said the RDC’s net share of the balancing change order is $89,484.36, bringing the revised contract amount to $6,773,596.63.
Commissioners asked for clarification on federal participation, how the RDC portion was calculated and a small numeric correction in the resolution language; staff agreed the fourth paragraph needed a $3 correction. After technical clarification, the board approved Resolution 26-06 as amended.
Next steps: staff will finalize the corrected contract language in the resolution and proceed with closeout steps while noting that federal audits could adjust final participation amounts over the next two years.
