Shorewood Village Board approves sanitary sewer charges and several operational items in unanimous votes

The Village of Shorewood Board of Trustees met and approved several measures by unanimous votes.
Resolution 80-78 — sanitary sewer user charges: The board considered a resolution on sanitary sewer user charges that had come with a unanimous recommendation from the Budget & Finance Committee. Trustee Stokbrand moved and Trustee Ersink seconded; the board conducted a roll-call vote in which Trustees Warren, President McCaig, Stokbrand, Ersink, Arndorffer, Kudo and McGovern each recorded "Aye." The motion carried 7–0.
Senior resource center: The board approved a recommendation to use available lower-level space in the village center for a senior resource center. Trustees discussed programming, staffing constraints and furnishings; the Benjamin Fund was mentioned as a likely source for furniture. The motion to approve passed unanimously.
Service-delivery study (RFP): After Strategic Initiatives materials and committee discussion showing prior departmental analyses and expected cost of about $150,000, the board moved not to proceed with a new village-wide service-delivery RFP; trustees cited prior work and limited prospective savings. The motion to decline the RFP passed 7–0.
Personnel and HR items: The board approved two new DPW utility lead job descriptions (water and sewer leads) to strengthen supervision and specialization (committee vote 3–0 at JPL), and approved 2026 updates to the Human Resources manual including COLA clarifications. Both motions passed unanimously.
Closed session: The board voted to go into closed session under statutory authority (section 19 85 1(c)) to discuss the village manager’s annual performance evaluation. The roll-call vote to move into closed session carried 7–0.
