At the Dec. 1 meeting the Flagler County Board of County Commissioners ratified a prior Fire Rescue replacement ambulance purchase and approved a county write‑off policy as part of a broader consent agenda.
Chair Pennington announced an addition to the agenda — item 7k — to ratify a Fire Rescue replacement ambulance purchase (Order 20234): a 2025 Braun Chief XL on an F-450 chassis with a stated amount of $300,467. Purchasing Manager Robert Rounds explained the county’s updated Munis processes require showing how rolling stock was purchased and, because internal purchasing policies changed, staff brought the prior purchase back for board ratification.
On item 8a, staff presented a write‑off policy to create consistent procedures for outstanding invoices and collections; commissioners discussed the policy’s scope (ambulance billing and other county invoices) and agreed to annual reporting. Commissioner Deaton moved to approve item 8a and Commissioner Carney seconded; the policy passed on voice vote.
The board then approved the full consent agenda by motion (Hansen) and second (Richardson) and recorded unanimous support. Commissioners asked staff to confirm training provisions tied to a software upgrade in the development and permitting software and to ensure performance metrics for employee clinic and wellness center items are returned in January as requested.
