Speaker 2 said one firm currently working with city parks (HWC) provided no price point, a second firm represented by Tricia McClellan offered tiered options with base levels in the roughly $30,000–$40,000 range and higher packages up to $75,000–$100,000, and a third vendor (Taylor Seapker Williams) provided a lower base estimate. ‘‘Their estimate is $14,800,’’ Speaker 2 said of the lower proposal, adding that firm assumed the parks would be able to build on an existing management plan rather than starting from scratch.
Speaker 2 also explained grant implications: to be eligible for LWCF (Land and Water Conservation Fund) grants, the board needs a master plan approved by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Given timing and funding implications, Speaker 2 recommended members study the proposals and either decide at the next meeting or submit a preference by email.
Board members expressed no objection to delaying a final decision while they review materials. Speaker 3 noted the board has used email votes in the past and could use that option if members reach a consensus.
