He described ongoing meetings with city officials and said his organization looks forward to partnering with local government on the pilot and related services.
Commissioners and staff described collaboration with Broward County. A county representative said the county issued an RFP for $350,000 toward a countywide safe parking pilot; the city is proposing $200,000 for a Fort Lauderdale‑focused pilot. City and county staff said the programs are independent but cooperative — the county will run its separate procurement process and the city will evaluate its own pilot, and both entities plan to share evaluation results.
The public comment occurred as part of the city’s budget hearing; no formal vote was taken on the pilot during this session.
