County selects consultant for annual bridge inspections; federal funds cover most cost

The Lincoln County Board approved selecting the county's consultant to perform the 2026 bridge inspections.
Highway Superintendent Terry Floyd told commissioners the county will inspect roughly 80–87 bridge structures this year, mostly on township roads. Floyd said the inspections come via a state DOT resolution and that federal funds will pay about 80% of inspection costs. "This is from the DOT... there's federal funds that are available for this as well," he said.
A motion to select the consultant was made and approved by roll call.
The approval authorizes the county to proceed with scheduled inspections and to use available federal funding to offset local costs.
