The City of Irving Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday night considered seven zoning cases and made recommendations to the City Council, with most items scheduled for a Dec. 11 final vote.
The commission voted to recommend approval of a request that would allow Go Motorcycle Training to continue holding state-mandated motorcycle safety courses at Irving Mall. Applicant Karen Viera told the commission the program provides the hands-on portion of an 11‑hour state curriculum and keeps riders safer by offering controlled, instructor-led practice. "Only registered students participate," Viera said, noting classes are limited to about eight students and the hands-on portion runs roughly four to five hours split across two consecutive days. The commission’s recommendation to forward the case to council passed 8–1.
