The study, presented by Sherilyn Parsons, Community Development Manager, and Ryan Kilpatrick of Flywheel Community Development Services, is intended as an educational tool to be incorporated into the Imagine Kalamazoo 2035 master plan. Parsons emphasized the study does not represent city‑led development or city‑owned properties, and that mapped parcels are examples for private developers to consider.
Kilpatrick told commissioners the goal is to use existing infrastructure more efficiently and create housing across the spectrum.
