Katy City Council on Sept. 8 postponed adoption of the proposed 2025–26 budget to its Sept. 22 regular meeting and approved a slate of routine and emergency actions affecting city operations.
Mayor Pro Tem Chris Harris moved to delay the budget adoption; Councilmember Dan Smith seconded the motion and it passed by voice vote. The council also set a public hearing to consider a proposed 2025 tax rate at the Sept. 22 meeting at 6:30 p.m. at Katy City Hall, 901 Avenue C.
