Council Member Koretz made the motion to approve the proposed rate, which Mayor Pro Tem Chris Harris seconded; the motion passed on a recorded 5–0 vote. At the meeting staff stated the rate is the same as the 2024 rate.
The council’s action opens a public‑hearing period required under state law and gives residents an opportunity to comment before the council takes a final vote on Sept. 22. The clerk announced the hearing date and location during the Aug. 25 session.
