Royal Palm Beach youth baseball board votes to add softball to name, reports record enrollment and readies opening day

At a February meeting of the Youth Baseball Association of Royal Palm Beach, the board voted to change the league’s name to include softball, heard that registration has topped 500 children for the first time and reviewed finances and logistics for an expanded opening‑day celebration and tournament schedule.

The board approved an amendment to the organization’s name to read, as recited aloud during the meeting, “Youth baseball and softball association of Royal Palm Beach.” The motion was moved, seconded and adopted by voice vote; members responded “Aye.” The presiding speaker said the organization will update logos and the administrative email address to reflect the change.
