Springdale certifies 2025 election, declares Barbara Bruno mayor

The Springdale Town Council certified the results of the Nov. 2025 municipal election at a special meeting Tuesday, declaring Barbara Bruno elected mayor and Jack Burns and Randy Aton elected to the town council.
Erin Emerson, the town clerk and election official, told the council the official report from the Washington County election office showed 386 active voters and 270 ballots cast, a 69.95% turnout. She said two ballots could not be cured because signatures did not match the county’s records and three ballots arrived after the deadline, for a total of five ballots not counted. Emerson also reported one undervote in the mayoral race and 51 undervotes in the town council contest.
"I as the town clerk and election official for the town of Springdale declare Barbara Bruno as the elected mayor from the November," Emerson said while reading the certificate of election. She also declared Jack Burns and Randy Aton elected to the council.
Councilmember Kyla Topham moved that the board of canvassers accept, certify and approve the official canvas results "as required by Utah Code § 20A‑4‑301." The motion was seconded and the council recorded affirmative votes from Topham, Mayor‑elect Barbara Bruno, Randy Aton and Jack Burns. Pat Campbell was noted as absent earlier in the meeting.
The certification will be attested by signatures on the certificate of election and the town will post the official results as provided by the county election office.
The council adjourned after completing the canvass.
