Committee moves housekeeping policies: substitutes retired, cell-phone rules to be codified

The committee also discussed policy cleanup for employee cell-phone use. Doctor Hoffman said the referenced Policy 717 appeared to have been retired or never formally adopted; the district now uses a Google form and annual acknowledgement for employee phone reimbursement. Committee members agreed staff should convert the existing protocol into a formal Policy 717 and a complementary policy (800-level 815) to address general employee technology use.
Doctor Hoffman noted Policy 816 (social media language) had been edited and was ready to move forward after corrections. At the meeting's close, the committee agreed to move the policies discussed during the session to first reading and to recommend several previously considered items (policies 105.2, 610, 611, 702) for second reading at the board level.
