Council keeps pavilion rental fee at $30 and adopts fee resolution

The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board had reviewed current fees and recommended retaining the existing $30 reservation fee for Coconut Park Pavilion; the board also recommended starting the new Pueblo/Willow Park pavilion at the same $30 rate and reassessing later as usage patterns emerge.
City staff explained the fee structure: the $30 reservation plus a $30 refundable deposit are meant to offset electricity and facility costs and provide minor coverage for employee time; staff said the employee time is budgeted for the year and overtime recovery is unlikely. Council members supported the board’s recommendation and urged staff to review the rates after a year of usage.
The resolution was approved unanimously and will be reflected in the parks fee schedule and the city’s fee appendices.
