Summary
The Lake County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved a first-amended operating agreement assigning track operations to Matt Albert MX (pending legal review), renewed a five-year Patagonia Health EMR contract for public health, authorized a 2026–2030 environmental-education PSA with Cloud City Conservation Center, and approved the Timber Ranch major subdivision final plat; votes were unanimous on each item.
At its Feb. 3 meeting the Lake County Board of County Commissioners approved several administrative and land-use items across public safety, public health and planning.
County attorney Matt Hobbs (Speaker 7) presented a first-amended operating agreement to assign operation of the county motocross facility to a new operator and to tighten liability and reporting language so the county is not overly involved in daily operations. Commissioners discussed timing for annual financial reports and specifics such as weed-control language; Commissioner (Speaker 4) moved to approve the amended operating agreement between Lake County and Matt Albert MX pending legal review, and the board approved the motion by voice vote.
Public Health Director Kelsey Maxey (Speaker 11) recommended renewing the county’s Patagonia Health electronic medical records (EMR) contract on a five-year term to reduce staff workload and realize an estimated 25% savings versus repeated one-year renewals. Commissioner (Speaker 3) moved to approve the five-year renewal; the motion carried.
Duncan Chisholm, parks, recreation and open space director (Speaker 12), asked the board to approve a professional services agreement with Cloud City Conservation Center to deliver GoCo-funded environmental education and nature-based learning in Lake County schools from 2026–2030. The board approved that PSA to allow the county to draw down grant funds.
Anne Schneider, community planning and development director (Speaker 6), presented the Timber Ranch major subdivision final plat and reviewed conditions of approval, including coordination on deed restrictions with the regional housing authority, engineering sign-offs, CDPHE best-practice controls, a sidewalk easement for Track A, and school-dedication cash receipts. Commissioner (Speaker 3) voiced concern about traffic at the Mount Lincoln and Sawatz Drive intersection; staff said the traffic study was reviewed during the preliminary process and engineers had signed off. The board approved the final plat and related resolution.
Votes at a glance: the board recorded unanimous approvals on the operating-agreement amendment (pending legal review), Patagonia Health five-year renewal, the Cloud City PSA and the Timber Ranch final plat.
