Central dispatch reports January call volumes and staffing plan

A central dispatch representative briefed commissioners on Jan. activity, giving a breakdown of telephony and service calls.
The representative reported 49 landline 911 calls, about 1,900 cell 911 calls and 153 VoIP 911 calls, totaling 2,144 911 calls. He said there were 9,483 total calls and roughly 11,000 calls for service for the month; roughly 1,100 calls were for EMS and about 9,000 for police. The office is actively hiring to fill one open position and has scheduled interviews for the week.
The deputy director, Marlena, is enrolled in a state Center Management Certification Program (CMCP) that will be held July 13–17 at the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office; registration costs are covered by the state with lodging reimbursable by the county. The dispatch office said it will continue recruitment efforts to fill staffing needs.
