Lindsay council hears applicants for economic development committee; members agree to keep six seats for now

The Lindsay City Council heard presentations from applicants for the economic development committee and discussed committee size and bylaws.
Applicants introduced themselves and described experience in municipal finance, grant writing and downtown revitalization. Anita Gustafson, one applicant, said she has municipal finance experience and would be "honored to work, alongside the council, the staff, city staff, committee, and people" to help revitalize downtown.
Councilmembers discussed the committee bylaws, which currently limit membership (transcript reference to five/ six during discussion), and considered options including changing bylaws and re-advertising. After discussion, the council expressed a consensus to retain a six-member configuration for the committee at this time and to bring any formal bylaw changes back to a future meeting rather than filling additional seats immediately.
No formal, recorded vote on bylaws change occurred at the meeting; council agreed to keep applications on file and to return with any bylaw revisions and additional appointments in a later meeting.
