Village staff and golf-fund management gave an update on the Michael Glencoe Golf Club clubhouse and related CIP funding.
Stella and golf-fund presenters said September revenue exceeded budget and that the Friends of the Glencoe Golf Club held a cultivation event with donor Jillian Goodman. Construction work is advancing: the main-level precast floor is in place, parking-lot work was scheduled to begin, and staff said they hope the building is under roof by Dec. 15. Staff also described operational changes to run the clubhouse year-round, including making two existing seasonal positions full-time to support winter events and simulator operations.
On financing, staff said the golf-club project is currently funded from a mix of bond proceeds, golf-fund reserves and private donations; staff noted a potential draw from the golf fund (figures discussed in the meeting) and two bond issues proposed next year to finance larger portions of the CIP. Staff said they will return with specific bond-issuance proposals after board direction and public review.
No board action to bind the village to additional borrowing or transfers occurred at this meeting; the presentation was offered for committee feedback and to set expectations for board-level decisions.
