At its Feb. 4 meeting the Davie Town Council approved several routine but consequential items: the first amendment to the fiscal year 2026 budget (second reading), the reappointment of Lawrence J. Davis to the Town of Davie Police Pension Board, and the appointment of Marlon Lewis to the Affordable Housing Committee. The council also approved the consent agenda (with one item pulled for brief discussion) and authorized site‑plan landscaping changes on the pulled item.
Town staff read the budget amendment ordinance on second reading; no public speakers addressed the measure and council approved it on a roll‑call vote. The budget ordinance includes standard conflict, severability and effective‑date provisions.
On appointments, council moved and approved the reappointment of Lawrence J. Davis to the Police Pension Board and appointed Marlon Lewis to fill the council seat on the Affordable Housing Committee. During discussion of the pulled consent item (agenda item 17), the applicant’s representative explained planting silver and green buttonwoods between large oak trees to provide a buffer and staff confirmed arborist coordination and permitting would prevent unnecessary oak removal; council approved the site with staff recommendations.
All recorded votes on these items were affirmative as reflected in the meeting minutes.
