Franklin County Fiscal Court approves SRO MOU, personnel pay changes, audit engagement and budget amendment in voting session

Major actions adopted included approval of a memorandum of understanding with the Franklin County Board of Education to fund 13.5 school resource officer positions; the court also approved the reappointment of Elle Travis to the Franklin County Board of Health for a term ending Dec. 31, 2028. Several personnel matters were approved, including new starting pay for light equipment operators without CDLs and salary adjustments for named employees (Matthew Tolleson, Tyler Lacy, Louis Ray). The court approved an engagement letter authorizing the state's auditor of public accounts to audit the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. On second reading the court adopted amendment number 2 to ordinance 4-2025, increasing the county budget by $1,800,000 (bringing total to $69,600,000 including capital and federal projects) and approved related budget transfers.
Other routine items advanced included approval of minutes from Oct. 29 and Oct. 30 meetings, authorization to approve an amended 2024 sheriff's property-tax report, receipt of the treasurer's report and payment of claims. The court then adjourned the voting session.
