The Leawood City Council unanimously approved the appointment of Jeremy Wilmoth as the city’s director of finance, with the position effective March 2.
City Administrator Diana Stoddard presented the recommendation, saying Wilmoth brings roughly 20 years of public-sector finance experience, is serving as chief financial officer for the Mid-Continent Public Library System and previously served as finance director for the cities of Lawrence, Kansas and Raytown, Missouri. "His appointment, if approved this evening, would be effective March 2," Stoddard said in presenting the recommendation.
Council member Larson moved to approve the appointment and Mr. Peppas seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The mayor said the council looks forward to meeting Mr. Wilmoth at the March 2 council meeting.
At the same portion of the meeting the council also approved routine consent items, including the Police and Fire Department 2025 annual reports and accepted the Parks, Recreation and Arts staff report; those items passed by unanimous voice vote.
