A new owner of a Delville property that was bought at sheriff’s sale requested the board discontinue billing while he decides on rehabilitation. Staff said the district’s ordinance requires continued billing when a property is connected and recommended maintaining the current practice.
Speaker 4 described the account history and that the property remained on the disconnect list; staff advised the board the protocol is to continue billing unless the board directs otherwise. Speaker 6 moved that the district continue the existing billing and collections process; the motion was seconded and carried on roll call.
The board did not direct staff to disconnect or to alter the standard collections process; staff will continue to follow established billing and disconnect procedures.
