OMMA defends lab practices and says QA lab is pursuing ISO accreditation as dispensary counts fall

Adria Berry, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority, told the Senate subcommittee that OMMA adheres to law and best practices and that its QA lab is undergoing ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation through ANAB.
Berry said some public questions about lab samples and vendor records reflect misinformation; OMMA staff noted that track-and-trace system data belongs to the state but that certain licensed-business information is protected under Oklahoma statute. She said the QA lab is ramping up and will need additional employees as accreditation completes; the agency recently had six hires and reported roughly 219 FTEs.
On dispensaries, Berry said the program has slightly fewer licensees than its peak and reported about 1,500 dispensaries currently operating, with market consolidation and enforcement actions removing some operators. She asked committee members to follow up in specific meetings to review lab procedures and data access.
Committee members requested further details on FTE changes, lab sample access and the accreditation timeline; OMMA agreed to follow up and to set appointments for site visits or staff briefings.
