The Saint Croix County Community Development Committee voted unanimously to modify condition No. 5 of an existing conditional use permit (CUP 2018‑008) for Outdoor Frontier, Inc., allowing the existing hunting lodge on a 190‑acre property in the Town of Warren to be rented as a short‑term rental (Airbnb/VRBO) outside the hunting season.
Staff recounted the property's history, said the lodge's sewer system is sized for five bedrooms (up to 10 guests), and noted the prior CUP conditions would remain in effect. Staff advised that a county land‑use permit and a tourist rooming-house permit from the public health department would be required before advertising or operating as a short‑term rental.
Supervisor Shirley moved for approval; Supervisor Dunne Summerin seconded. The committee voted in favor, and the motion passed unanimously. Staff said they will ensure appropriate land‑use and public‑health permits and inspections are in place to verify parking, sanitary-system sizing and safety devices before operation as a short‑term rental.
