Bossier City opens sealed bids for on-demand concrete; fuel-station conversion bid continued to Feb. 17

Bossier City officials opened sealed bids for an on-demand concrete contract for public works and delayed action on the city’s fuel-station conversion bid until their Feb. 17 meeting.

An unidentified project representative told the council the engineer’s estimate for project P26-04 was $800,000 and that the funding would come from the city’s general budget. The representative read four sealed bids into the record: A and H Building and Construction at $778,700 (with a bid bond); James R. Martin Building and Construction at $798,000 (with bid bond); PRC Construction LLC at $842,230 (with a certified check in lieu of a bid bond); and RBP Construction at $775,200 (with a bid bond).

Council then approved a motion to accept the reading of the bids into the record. Separately, the council agreed to continue the sealed bid opening for project P26-05 (city fuel station conversions) to the February 17 meeting at the procurement department’s request.

The transcript shows the bids and the engineer’s estimate were entered into the public record; the council did not award a contract at the meeting. Staff indicated they are compiling damage and material expense data from recent freezing weather and will return with further procurement recommendations, including possible funding adjustments or FEMA/state assistance for storm-related repairs.
