Chase, assisting staff, said livestock siting is complex and staff recommended removing it from the agenda “at this time” so the county does not present language that could be misinterpreted. The chair indicated consensus to remove that item.
Staff also summarized housing and economic development items drafted by Adam McCullough, the county’s economic development director, and noted Heather (from registered deeds) was providing testimony in Madison in favor of one of the agenda items, making it timely to include committee support.
Monica moved to approve the legislative agenda and Diane seconded; the motion carried on a voice vote. The committee did not specify scheduled times for meetings with legislators but discussed a strategy of meeting individually with legislators rather than convening a full delegation.
The committee will forward the approved agenda to the Executive Committee.
