Staff described a negotiated deal in which Dennett will purchase the seven lots and construct the roadway connection; part of the purchase price accounts for the cost of building the road. The transaction will return about $1,165,000 to the Corridor Preservation Fund, staff said. Washington County staff were consulted and indicated support. An appraisal commissioned by the city informed the price, and Dennett will dedicate right‑of‑way and construct utilities in the alignment identified by staff.
Councilman Thomas made the motion to approve the item; Councilman Hershey seconded. Council voted in favor.
Staff said the sale helps complete a long‑planned roadway link through property that the city purchased roughly 10 years ago with corridor preservation funding and that proceeds will return to that fund for regional infrastructure purposes. The agreement will be finalized with standard closing documents and will be brought to staff for final paperwork execution.
