During the open meeting after reconvening, the mayor read a summary of the executive session stating that only items on the agenda were discussed and that no votes were taken in executive session. The council then made a public motion to authorize finalization of the settlement and to instruct outside counsel to send the agreement to YCSF for review and redlines.
A council member asked whether the funds should be designated to a particular park; the mayor amended the motion and the council voted to approve the amended motion. The clerk recorded the vote in the affirmative.
Next steps: Outside counsel and the mayor will finalize the settlement agreement and coordinate with YCSF on any redlines. The city manager and parks staff will develop plans to allocate the recovered funds to the three named parks for specified improvements.
