Delegates honor Maryland History Day teachers and students

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Before taking up legislative business Jan. 30, the House of Delegates honored Maryland History Day teachers of the year and students who won national awards.
A delegate reading the resolution noted that Maryland History Day is supported through funding to Maryland Humanities and that more than 28,000 students across 18 counties and Baltimore City participate in the program. The resolution named teachers and students from Frederick, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George’s and other counties and called the honorees to the floor for recognition and photographs.
The House paused briefly for remarks and congratulated the students and educators on their work; the session then proceeded to legislative business.
