Ravena to replace Friendship Festival with three-day July 10–12 celebration for nation’s 250th

Officials announced Feb. 3 that the annual Friendship Festival will not be held in August this year. Instead, the Village of Ravena and the Town of Clemens will jointly host a three-day celebration to mark the United States’ 250th anniversary.
Plans outlined at the meeting call for a block party at Moser Park on Friday, July 10; a Saturday festival on July 11 at Queenman's Landing featuring historical reenactors, children’s activities, vendors, food and fireworks over the river; and Sunday, July 12 community breakfasts at firehouses and local historical scavenger-hunt–style events.
Organizers said they chose the weekend after July 4 to avoid scheduling conflicts with other regional events and expect the fireworks to be “bigger and better than what we usually have.” The board said it will contact vendors and update logistics as planning proceeds.
