The Ravena Village Board voted Feb. 3 to hire Michael Biscoe as special counsel for water and sewer matters at $5,000 per quarter beginning March 1; the motion was moved and seconded and approved by voice vote.
The Ravena Village Board on Feb. 3 approved a contract appointing Michael Biscoe as special counsel for the village’s water and sewer work, the board said.
Board Member 1 moved to retain Biscoe on a quarterly basis to provide legal advice on water and sewer matters; Board Member 2 seconded. Board members voiced assent and the motion was approved. The contract will pay $5,000 per quarter and take effect March 1.
The decision follows ongoing infrastructure work in the village’s water system. At the meeting, staff reported that an effluent wall poured two weeks earlier has cured, a crane removed three large columns from a secondary basin, and support brackets and settling tubes are being installed. Lab equipment and turbine meters were recently serviced, and businesses that require water reads will be contacted.
Board members did not record a roll-call vote; the motion passed by voice affirmation. The board also said Michael Greg Marrow is continuing intergovernmental negotiations with the Town of Queens on related matters.
Next steps: the contract begins March 1; the board did not set an explicit follow-up presentation date for counsel’s work at the meeting.
