At the Dec. 16 meeting the Hendrick Hudson Central School District Board of Education handled routine and governance business, including policy readings and consent agenda actions.
During the meeting trustees completed second readings and adopted policy 2550 (board member compensation and expense) and policy 6705 (reimbursement for meals, refreshments, conferences and travel expenses). The board also conducted first readings for several policies, including revisions to the ex‑officio student member policy (2245) to allow juniors or seniors to serve and to move operational qualifications into regulations.
On the consent agenda members approved most items but pulled item 7.02 (approval of building‑use agenda). A motion was made to table approval of the building‑use agenda until the board’s January 7, 2026 meeting; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.
Trustees also moved to retire older policies in the 5020 series (5020.1 on harassment, 5020.2 on racial harassment, 5020.3 on diversity) because their subjects are now covered in other approved policies (0111 and 0115 or 0105). The board indicated the retired policies will remain accessible in the archived policy corner. Several other first and second readings were held and will return for further consideration or formal adoption according to the district’s policy procedures.
