Elementary PTA reports wide community activity; board approves minutes and moves to executive session

Tressa Bushey, president of the Gloversville elementary PTA, told the board the PTA distributed more than 700 books last year, gave away 20 free laptops, presented 25 arts awards, funded field trips and organized family events including Spooky STEM and a Build‑A‑Bear style 'Bridal Land' activity.
"My name is Tressa Bushey. I'm president of our elementary PTA," Bushey said as she reviewed the PTA’s 2024–25 highlights and plans. The PTA also described National PTA Reflections arts programming, an art showcase scheduled for Nov. 21 at Boulevard, and a small teacher grant won by Lisa Gouda to revamp a school courtyard.
Board members publicly praised the PTA’s work. Later in the meeting the board approved the Oct. 6 meeting minutes (motion announced and named participants in the motion/second sequence) and approved recommended consent items 8.01 through 17.24. The board then moved into executive session to discuss personnel history and a contract item; the chair stated that no action would be taken following executive session.
The PTA invited community members to join and to view materials; leaders said project materials and future meeting times will be shared on the district’s channels.
