The Lompoc City Council declared February 2026 as 2‑1‑1 Community Celebration Month and presented a proclamation recognizing Communify’s work operating 2‑1‑1 Santa Barbara County.
Council member Bull introduced the proclamation and read data from the service’s recent year: 2‑1‑1 reported more than 22,400 web visits in 2024, served callers in more than 150 languages, and provided more than 10,000 resource referrals. Patricia Keelan, CEO of Communify, accepted the proclamation and invited residents to a free community day hosted by Communify on Feb. 7 at the DeWeese Community Center, which will include more than 65 participating agencies, free health screenings, food and services.
Keelan highlighted new initiatives including a youth‑focused 2‑1‑1 mobile app and an immigrant resources database accessible through the 2‑1‑1 network, noting the service is often an entry point for people seeking housing, mental‑health and disaster assistance. "When people are in crisis or just simply in need of information, 2‑1‑1 is often the front door to help," Keelan said.
Councilors thanked Communify staff for local collaboration and encouraged residents to attend the upcoming resource day.
