The Chickasha City Council approved Task Order No. 10 under a master professional‑services agreement to construct a 120‑by‑100‑foot box hangar at Chickasha Municipal Airport and authorized the mayor to execute the contract. An airport board/council speaker noted hangar capacity was at 100 percent and said additional hangar space is needed to attract aircraft and associated fees.
During discussion a councilmember questioned a roughly $7,100 geotechnical survey included in the task order. Engineering staff explained the geotechnical work is intended to assess soils and load‑bearing conditions to ensure appropriate foundations and long‑term stability.
Separately, the council held the second of two required public hearings on the potential creation of a tax‑increment financing (TIF) district at the Airport Industrial Park. Nathan, serving as TIF counsel/presenter, said the second hearing was primarily an opportunity for public comment and recommended postponing ordinance and resolution consideration until a future meeting to allow further review. The council followed that recommendation and tabled the ordinance; staff said the resolution and ordinance may be considered at the next meeting after additional work.
The council also postponed item 6e indefinitely at staff request so the city can republish notice for a public auction. Several other agenda items (including 6h) were tabled or postponed during the meeting. The Chickasha Municipal Authority and Chickasha Municipal Airport Authority each took separate consent actions and adjourned later the same evening.
Task Order No. 10 passed by roll call; the meeting record shows council approval and direction for staff to complete follow‑up work related to the task order and the TIF process.
