Council approves routine expenditures, vehicle surplus sale and event agreements

During its Feb. 3 meeting the Pryor Creek City Council approved a slate of routine expenditures and agreements.
The council approved a final billing of $13,001.70 to American Legal Publishing Corporation for the city’s ordinance recodification project and awarded $5,419.51 to Prior Stone for stone at the police shooting range; staff noted the range will receive 6 inches of gravel and 4 inches of asphalt. The council also declared a 2018 Ford Explorer XLT (unit 101, VIN ending in 13796) surplus and approved sale of the vehicle to the Maze Emergency Services Trust Authority for $10,000 contingent on approval by that authority’s board; proceeds will be deposited to the police equipment capital outlay account.
Separately, the mayor was authorized to sign an interlocal agreement with Mayes County to secure gravel and asphalt work recently placed at the police range (estimated $5,900), with initial payment made by the street department and EDTA reimbursement expected. The council also approved a deposit to Rainbow Fireworks to secure July 4, 2026, for the city’s Freedom Fest; EDTA funds will be used to pay the deposit.
Council members said the range work is progressing and that the city will publish required ordinance notices in the appropriate regional paper as part of finalizing the franchise ordinance later in the meeting.
