HAMMOND, Ind. — The Hammond City Board of Public Works and Safety on Jan. 8 approved a set of routine construction and administrative items, referred a neighborhood parking request for engineering review and set a hearing date on rental-registration and late business-license matters.
Among the actions, the board approved change order No. 9 with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) for curb-and-gutter joint repairs on the Kennedy Avenue Road Diet project after a city representative said joints had "opened up and failed" during construction and that INDOT agreed the cleanup was eligible for reimbursement.
